Oyster Bay Christian Church
Who are we
We are a family oriented group of people from many
denominational backgrounds...Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian and
Uniting Church to name just a few.
We are very community minded with activities and interests for the
whole family.
We don't stand too much on ceremonies and traditions but in our casual
approach to life we rely on the truths of the Bible and the principles as
taught by Jesus Christ.
We have a fully carpeted, air conditioned church building with a
'sound-quiteted' cry room. There is a well equipped creche and Sunday
programmes for children up to High School age.
About our Pastor
Phil Littlejohn has been the Pastor of this local church
for over thirty years. He and his wife Gail have three daughters, Joanne,
Karen and Michelle.
Phil was an engineering surveyor before he became a Christian at the age
of 24. He then felt that God was calling him to full time Christian service.
Phil's aim is to promote a lifestyle that is consistent with the teachings
of the Bible and to encourage people to develop a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ.
Starlights. A new name but a timeless message
Now the name better reflects changing times and expectations.
Whatever it's called, "Starlights" does a power of good for children aged
5 - 12.
Traditional teaching of Bible stories and moral stories are interspersed with
craft and other activities. But the message is always contempory, delivered in a
manner relavent to modern times.
For infants and primary school aged children, "Starlights" is another
service provided to the community by the Oyster Bay Christian Church.

"Over 21" Club
It's not always that easy to stay in touch with community and retirement issues.
That's why older residents have spacial needs.
The Oyster Bay Christian Church "Over 21" Club is a practical forum
where senior citizens can hear from speakers on a wide range of topics, as well as
enjoy the support and care that comes from local companionship and fellowship.
As well as talks, there're arts and craft afternoons, as well as plenty of
organised shopping trips, outings and bus trips. After all, being old should
have it's privileges.
Senior Citizens welcome (and even those a little younger!)
Time: 1 - 3pm
When: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month
Where: Oyster Bay Christian Church
Cost: 60c plus costs for excursions
Playtime. A time for moms and bubs
Raising children these days can be very difficult. Parents need
all the help they can muster. Why not share the Load? Every Tuesday morning a small
group of parents, usually Mums, (but Dads are most welcome!) meet to have a "
cuppa" and allow their children to play in a safe environment with other children.
It's very informal, and it's good to hear how others cope with the responsibility
of raising kids in this day and age. Toys and activities are supplied and everyone finds
the two hours enjoyable.
It doesn't matter if this is your first child or you're very experienced!
Meeting with other people who are at the same stage in life is always an advantage.
